First! China Petroleum's first titanium alloy continuous pipe has been successfully trial-produced.

According to China Petroleum News (Reporter Yang Hongzhi, Correspondents Zang Wei and Wang Zeyu), on April 20th, the first titanium alloy continuous pipe developed independently by Baoshiguan Industry was successfully trial-produced, filling the product gap in this field for China Petroleum Group, marking a major technological breakthrough in the field of high-end energy pipe materials for Baoshiguan Industry, and providing a core equipment tool for the development of oil and gas resources under harsh conditions such as deep sea, ultra-deep wells and high corrosion.

It is reported that the density of titanium alloy continuous pipe is only 57% of that of steel, and it has the characteristics of high strength, lightweight, high corrosion resistance, and high fatigue. Compared with the same steel grade carbon steel continuous pipe, it can significantly increase the depth of pipe string insertion, and is suitable for long-term service in oil and gas resources onshore under harsh conditions such as high content of hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, and chloride ions, and in marine oil and gas resources. It can meet various operational needs in the fields of drilling and completion, oil and gas production, and oil and gas gathering and transportation during the oil and gas extraction process.

To overcome the technical difficulties in the manufacture of titanium alloy continuous tubes, Baoshiguan Industry formed a project team and developed a detailed implementation plan. After repeated experiments and several rounds of trial production, they optimally selected titanium alloy raw materials, screened out suitable welding materials, and optimized and transformed key equipment such as the whole process gas protection, forming, and welding. "We have broken through key technical difficulties such as the control of springback in titanium alloy cold bending forming, high-precision high-high-energy density, and efficient continuous laser welding, and online gas protection annealing treatment, and the first batch of titanium alloy continuous tubes fully meets the performance requirements," Baoshiguan Industry's chief expert, Zhao Kun, told reporters.
